RSVP looking for craft-loving volunteers

DARKE COUNTY - During this cold winter weather a lot of people stay inside their homes.
While hibernating in the house one may be looking for a project that will help keep busy and may help others too. The new RSVP “Knit and Stitch” program could help with these boring winter months.

RSVP is looking for volunteers that are 55 and over, can knit or crochet, and want to be involved in making colorful hats, mittens, and scarves for the Head Start preschoolers at Kids Learning Place centers. The creative work can be completed at home, but monthly gatherings are offered to provide a time for socializing if desired. Volunteers have the option of personally presenting the hats and mittens to a child at an upcoming event at the Kids Learning Place centers. Donations of yarn or knitting/crocheting needles are also welcome. Please drop off the supplies at the local RSVP office at 116 E. Third Street in Greenville.

For more information please call Abhy Mangen, the RSVP recruiter, at 548-8002 or email her at rsvpdk@councilonruralservices.org. To volunteer in a more active position, Abhy can match with many of the other non-profits that need assistance also.
