Residents and businesses reminded about snow removal

GREENVILLE – Greenville business owners and residents were reminded Feb. 4 it is their responsibility to keep sidewalks and curbs in front of homes and businesses free of snow and ice. They were referred to Ordinance 660.05 which says, in part, “No owner or occupant of lots or lands abutting any sidewalk, curb or gutter shall fail to keep … in repair and free from snow, ice or any nuisances…” The allotted time for compliance “shall not exceed 12 hours” following a storm. The ordinance also states failure to comply is a minor misdemeanor.
