Due to the girl’s inability to visit the Commissioner’s Office, the Commissioners went to her. Each of the commissioners – Diane Delaplane, Mike Rhoades and Stegall - had comments about their visit with the Darke County teen who has been afflicted with Mitochondrial Disease.
“It takes a lot of courage… she put herself out there; if that isn’t courage, what is?”
Rhoades said it was a humbling experience.
The Proclamation was presented at 1 p.m.; the regular public meeting began on time at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 20 in the Darke County Commissioners Office.
In addition to multiple transfers of appropriations ranging from $ .20 to $14,800 to balance budgets by year’s end, commissioners approved unpaid ‘False Alarm’ charges to be placed on the tax bill of Gary Richards of Hollansburg.
The cumulative fee was $450 for seven false alarms occurring in January, February, May and June. The first three were no charge, the fourth $50, the fifth $100 and the last two, $150 each.
The fees were for Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies responses to alarms.
