Genealogical Society plans workshop

GREENVILLE – The Darke County Genealogical Society, Inc. will hold its Fall Genealogy Workshop on Oct. 19, at Garst Museum, Lowell Thomas Meeting Room, 205 N. Broadway, Greenville. Doors open at 8:30 a.m.

Session 1: Hidden Treasures at Family Search

Session 2: Tricks to Successful Census Searches at Ancestry.com

Session 3: If You Don’t Find Grandma on the Internet

Session 4: Digging Up Your Ancestors: Finding Tombstone & Cemetery Records

The featured speaker is Dana Ann Palmer, CG. She is a board certified genealogist and holds a bachelor’s degree in Math Education. She has been researching her family history and using computers since childhood. She is the current president of the Warren County Genealogical Society and is also their webmaster. She has presented many lectures at various local genealogical societies, libraries and other groups in southwestern Ohio, Indiana and Utah. She currently teaches genealogy at Sinclair Community College.

Pack your lunch. Drinks and dessert are furnished. There will be door prizes and handouts.
