Two Greenville sites named as Heritage Ohio finalists

GREENVILLE--Heritage Ohio has released the finalists for it’s Annual Awards 2013. 530 South Broadway has been selected for The Best Commercial Rehabilitation Project of 2012. Dennis and Kirsten Berghoff have worked very hard to renovate this historic building. The Berghoff’s have been working on turning this building into a boutique.

Sadie Grace, Inc. has been launched as a trendy spot for 20-30 year olds for women's clothing, accessories and gifts. Their 8 month renovation of the space was a true labor of love that involved their entire family and focused on the history of the building. The two story building is now an attractive addition to the downtown block

St. Clair Memorial Hall has also been chosen as a finalist as The Best Private/Public Partnership for 2012. Memorial Hall, which celebrated its 100th anniversary in May 2012, was awarded a $250,000 grant for fa├žade repairs and exterior restoration by the Ohio Department of Development. This funding was secured through the collaboration of the City of Greenville, Greenville City Schools, Darke County Endowment for the Arts and Main Street Greenville. The matching funds were provided through permanent improvement funds of Greenville City Schools, who owns the building, by Darke County Endowment for the Arts and various fundraisers.

“We are thrilled to have so many different groups working together to secure funding and help restore Memorial Hall,” said Jon McGreevey, Director of Administrative Services for Greenville City Schools. “This funding will ensure Memorial Hall remains a treasure in Darke County.”

This partnership is very impressive and that is why St. Clair Memorial Hall was chosen as a finalist.
