Teacher of the Year candidates introduced

GREENVILLE—Candidates for the 2013 Teacher of the Year award met for the annual luncheon and interview session on April 19 at the Darke County Educational Service Center. Recognized by Retired Teachers of Darke County representative Ginny Nieport and welcomed by Superintendent Michael E. Gray were the candidates and their sponsors: Ansonia math teacher Jim Robson, sponsored by Bernie Niekamp; Arcanum-Butler math teacher Tim Pfahler, sponsored by Marilyn Graeff; Bradford math teacher Rocco Latina, sponsored by Peggy Zimmer; Franklin Monroe social studies teacher Andy Zimmerman, sponsored by Ginny Nieport; Greenville math teacher Bob Batty, sponsored by Kathlene Nealeigh; Mississinawa Valley instrumental music teacher Audrey Hathaway, sponsored by Mary Carroll Blocher; Tri Village vocal music teacher Kristen Verhoff, sponsored by Rita Mayo; Versailles math and science teacher Cassidy Helman, sponsored by Tim Nealeigh.

Interviewing the candidates were Dr. Dave Dolph, Tracy Thieman, Heather Whittaker and Holly Johnson.

The Darke County Teacher of the Year is sponsored by the Darke County Chapter of Retired Teachers and the Darke County Educational Service Center. The Teacher of the Year will be announced May 21.
