BPW scholarship winners announced

GREENVILLE— Maddison Buschur from Versailles High School, Tara Guillozet from Greenville High School and Elizabeth Miller from Tri-Village High School have been selected to receive a $500 scholarship from the Greenville Business & Professional Women’s (BPW) Club.

Tarah Fledderjohn, from Arcanum High School and daughter of BPW member Tasha Anderson, received the Anna Britton Scholarship, which is awarded to a daughter or granddaughter of any member of Greenville BPW. Anna Britton was an active member of BPW that bequeathed money to award this annual scholarship.

The Scholarship Committee consisting of Dorothy Poeppelman and Shelly Sander canvassed all eight Darke County high schools for applicants for the scholarship. The finalists attended the march 14 BPW meeting and gave a speech about herself and her goals for the future to the members.

Other finalists included Brittany Brand, Jessica Heitkamp, and Brooke Robinson from Versailles High School, Michelle Chen from Franklin Monroe, Morgan Goubeaux and Micaela Wright from Arcanum Butler, and Megan Stephan and Shaye Thomas from Tri Village High School.

The Greenville BPW Club’s mission is to achieve equity for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education, and information. The Club holds fund raisers throughout the year to raise money to grant scholarships to the young women of Darke County.

The Club meets the second Thursday of every month for a dinner meeting. Those interested in learning more about the club can contact membership chair Gail Snyder, 937/423-4854, or gails669@embarqmail.com
