Volunteers needed for GOBA’s visit

GREENVILLE – Plans are shaping up for the Great Ohio Bicycle Adventure’s (GOBA) 25th Anniversary Ride through West-Central Ohio. Greenville has been chosen as a layover site for one of the nights and a local committee has been formed to oversee activities and events and ensure this community is one riders won’t soon forget.

GOBA riders will begin making their way into the city on the afternoon of Tuesday, June 18. Between 2,500 and 3,000 riders are expected to set up camp at the Greenville High School. Committees for food, entertainment, transportation, camping/facilities, and information have been set up to make the event run as smoothly as possible.

With this huge influx of people of all ages, volunteers will be needed to point the visitors in the right direction and carry-out the plans that are being made. If you would like the opportunity to meet people from all over Ohio and throughout the country and show how hospitable the Treaty City can be, contact Deanna York at the Darke County Visitors Bureau, 548-5158 or visit
