LWV gearing up for ‘Glad Rags & Old Bags’

GREENVILLE--Viewing the latest spring fashions would seem enough incentive to draw women to this Spring’s League of Women Voters tea fundraiser Glad Rags and Old Bags. However, once again the group is planning to entice women to a fun, dressed-up afternoon tea (hats encouraged, but not necessary) with a silent auction of gently used purses from high fashion or whimsical to downright practical! Slacks or bloomers are also welcome as this group enjoys their comfort.

Committee chair for the event, Diane Johnson, has offered information that the committee has in place at this time. The beautiful décor of St. Clair House will be the venue with its graceful stairway lending itself to the spring-summer fashion event by Youniques.

The committee is planning for tables to be dressed in spring décor to provide the perfect setting for enjoying the wonderful savories that will be offered by Montage. Anyone who has not visited the St. Clair House before will enjoy the ambiance of the elegant dining room and furnishings.

The day will also include auctioned purses and bags that will be directly linked to many amazing prizes so that not only will the participant receive the purse, but also the mystery prize associated with it. Other door prizes will be included in the afternoon’s enjoyment. A limited number of tickets will be available and will go on sale the first of April for the April 27 event.
