Democratic Spring Gala Dinner is April 3

Ed Fitzgerald
GREENVILLE—Ed Fitzgerald, the first Cuyahoga County Executive elected under the new Charter Government, will be the featured speaker at the Darke County Democratic Spring Gala Dinner to be held April 3 at the American Legion Hall.

The office of County Executive was created by the voters of Cuyahoga County in 2009 to replace the traditional county government in the wake of pervasive scandal and political upheaval. The Charter Government also includes an Eleven Member Council, elected from each district within the county.

Fitzgerald has spent more than two decades in public service as an FBI Special Agent, Assistant County Prosecutor and three term city Councilman and then Mayor of Lakewood, OH. A graduate of Ohio State University and Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, he has volunteered to tutor reading in public schools as well as working in programs for senior citizens.

Ed and his wife Shannon have been married for 22 years and are the parents of four children, ages 12-19.

The Gala will begin with a social hour at 5:50 p.m., followed by dinner at 6:30 p.m. For reservations or additional tickets, contact Jim Surber, 548-9890, or Scott Zumbrink, 419-336-8111.
