Arcanum HS seeking projects for students

ARCANUM – Arcanum High School is seeking help from the community for a project the entire student body will take part in. The district has designated May 3, 8-11:30 a.m., as a time to Serve Arcanum. The student body, assisted by teachers and community members, will go out into the community and serve the citizens through a variety of service projects. A few examples of projects they would welcome include lawn care, painting, cleaning, and organization. You provide the job and supplies and they will provide the manpower.

One of the primary goals of Arcanum High School is to promote the ideal of service to others. When students graduate, the district wants them to have a service oriented mind. They want the students to help make the world a better place. They also want to give something back to the community that shows strong support for the school.

On May 3, 8-11:30 a.m., the students will be going out into the community to complete these projects. Students finishing early on one project will be assigned to another project.

If you have a project you need help with, contact the school for a sign-up sheet. One week before the event, a member of the Serve Arcanum Committee will contact you and remind you about the event and finalize any details. Students will be placed in jobs based on their ability to complete the project. For example, if an organization wants something painted, they will place students on the project that have experience painting. All forms are due to the Serve Arcanum Committee by April 12.

For additional information, contact Jason Stephan at the school or email Jason_stephan@darke.k12.oh.us.
