GETTYSBURG – Cub Scouts from pack 231, chartered to Oakland Church of the Brethren in Gettysburg, participated in “Scout Sunday.” Scouts took part in the service to help commemorate and recognize Scouting and the scout’s commitment to “Duty to God.”
The Boy Scouts of America designates the Sunday that falls before Feb. 8 (Scouting Anniversary Day) as Scout Sunday, and is an opportunity to celebrate the anniversary of the beginning of the Scouting program, and for the Scouting family to recognize the contributions of young people and adults to Scouting.
