GREENVILLE – The Greenville High School Theatre Club, Troupe 4114 will be presenting an afternoon of drama and laughs, with two very special and entertaining plays on Feb. 24, 2 p.m., in the high school gym.
The first production, “Don’t U Luv Me?” is an examination of modern day relationships, using music, text messages and a poignant script that portrays both good and bad interactions. The troupe usually does a social awareness piece for State Contest, and this year they are doubly blessed to have been able to present it for Greenville High School and take it to State as well! At the conclusion of the play for the high school, the entire student body rose to their feet as the heroine triumphed over her antagonist. It is stories like these, told through live action, that touch the hearts and minds of people, and why they love theatre. This piece is intended for mature audiences.
The second production is entitled “The Inventor’s Daughter.” This is a classic melodrama, with a charming heroine and hero to cheer for, and a vile villain to boo! You will laugh and love right along with the cast as creativity and diabolical good looks abound.
The troupe is presenting these plays to the community as a means of fundraising for the upcoming trip to State contest. The funds raised will be used to pay for the cost of transportation to and from the contest, which is being held in Sylvania this year.
