Community Unity begins Have a Heart, Do Your Part campaign

GREENVILLE – During this Valentine season, Community Unity is launching a campaign called "Have a Heart... Do Your Part" to seek out new financial supporters for their work. They will be contacting numerous churches, organizations and businesses in the community to help the many needy individuals in the area. They will be accepting one-time gifts as well as contributions on a regular basis. Through this program, Community Unity will also be expressing its great appreciation to all those who already support them.

While they are a tax exempt organization that has been around for more than 20-years, some may not be familiar with their efforts. Community Unity helps those within Darke County that are eligible with financial assistance for utilities, rent, medical needs and emergency transportation. They are no longer involved in food ministry. Although their office is located in the Grace Resurrection Community Center at 433 E. Water St., Greenville, they are a separate organization.

Community Unity operates solely with unpaid volunteers so the vast majority of donations go directly to help those in need. Because the demand for services is great and the only support comes through local grants and donations from churches, organizations and individuals, they rely on the generous assistance of their supporters.

Donations can be sent to Community Unity, P.O. Box 1064, Greenville, Ohio 45331. To arrange a presentation on Community Unity's work or for more information, contact Jim Morehouse, 547-1557.
