Adena Culture to be discussed

GREENVILLE—Darke County Parks welcomes respected author and editor Bob Converse to the Nature Center on Feb. 16, 10 a.m. Converse will share his knowledge of the prehistoric Adena culture which thrived in Ohio around 3,000 to 4,000 years ago. He will explain how these unique people introduced the first pottery, built the first burial mounds, and fashioned amazing tools made of flint and slate. There will be many displays of Adena artifacts from Darke County. Following the lecture, Converse will autograph his books, including The Archaeology of Ohio and will also inspect any artifacts you may have found and help you discover more about them.
