Volunteers will help prepare income tax forms at MU Library

WEST MILTON – AARP volunteers will once again assist low income taxpayers with preparing their income tax forms at the Milton-Union Public Library, 560 S. Main Street, West Milton, on Thursdays, 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Feb. 7 through April 11. This is a different day of the week from years past. The volunteers will also be available three evenings this year, Feb. 13, March 13, and April 10, 6-8 p.m.

This free tax service is specially geared toward taxpayers who are 60 years of age or older with assistance also offered to low income tax payers. Tax preparations are assigned on a first-come first-serve basis.

The library opens at 10 a.m. and the staff of the Milton-Union Public Library asks that people arriving before 10:30 a.m. try to avoid blocking the library’s entry for library patrons.

Federal and state tax forms, instructions, books and selected schedules are available at the library. The 1040 form will not be available until the end of January at the earliest. Staff can also help patrons retrieve reproducible forms from the internet. West Milton city tax forms are available at the West Milton Municipal Offices or at http://www.ci.vandalia.oh.us/tax.cfm.

The library is open Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, please visit the library; call 698-5515 or visit www.mupubliclibrary.org.
