GREENVILLE--Are you looking for something new and exciting to add to your schedule? If so, plan to attend the Volunteer Workshop at Shawnee Prairie Preserve Nature Center on Jan. 19, 10 a.m., and learn of the rewarding volunteer opportunities the Darke County Park District offers.
We will share with you what the Darke County Park District is, how it all began and where the Park District is today. Discussion will follow as to how, when and where you can assist the Park District with their endless volunteer opportunities. Rewarding volunteer positions include working as a front desk receptionist, assisting with school groups, adopting a park, assisting in general upkeep and maintenance of park grounds, or helping with special events such as the Maple Syrup Festival, Prairie Days Festival, Nature Day, or Walking in a Winter Wonderland. There is something for everyone.
Darke Count Park volunteers can assist with as many programs and special events as they can work into their busy schedules. Join us and bring a friend or two, and see how you can make a difference by assisting the Park District. Please call and RSVP to the Volunteer Corrdinator, Laura Schwieterman, 548-0165 or email lschwieterman@darkecountyparks.org.
