VHS PSEOP meeting

VERSAILLES – Any student eighth and higher and their parents / guardians who may be interested in the Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Program must attend the informational meeting at 6 p.m., Feb. 5, at Versailles High School in Room D147. Any student and/or parent must attend the Versailles PSEOP meeting if they plan to enroll in this program for the upcoming school year as a Versailles student. Returning PSEOP students must also attend the meeting for updates for the new academic year.

This program gives full-time students enrolled in Ohio high schools (grades 9-12) the opportunity to earn high school and/or college credits. This program does have very specific guidelines that will be discussed at the meeting. Besides Versailles’ Administrative directives, each institution of higher learning may have different admission standards and requirements. It usually includes ACT / SAT/ COMPASS testing to be completed before acceptance. There could be some course offerings and credit hour restrictions that apply because of the “B Rule” guideline.

The State of Ohio requires that all students planning on participating in the 2013-2014 school year sign the “Intent to Participate Forms” no later than March 30. Normally after the March 30 deadline, the institutions will start to review PSEOP applications, high school transcripts and testing standards. If accepted, student will NOT be able to complete any college registration for classes till the 2013-14 Versailles High School master schedule is completed in Mid-May.

Questions concerning the PSEO Program should be directed to Mrs. Olwine, High School Counselor, at 937-526-4427.
