‘Sundays at the Museum’ continues

VERSAILLES—The third season of the Versailles Area Historical Society’s “Sundays at the Museum” series will again bring a unique group of interesting characters together. This wonderful lecture series is more a chance to meet, greet, and to be entertained than a true “Lecture Series.”

Legends, lore, and downright lies will be shared by area storyteller, Chris Supring on Jan. 20, 2 p.m., as he presents “Stories by the Fireside and other Noteworthy Lies.” The whole family will hoot and holler with Chris and his folksy storytelling. Plan to come sip a hot beverage, warm by the fire, and enjoy the afternoon with Chris.

On Feb. 10 local author and contributor to the PBS series “The Lincoln Train,” Scott Trossel will discuss his new book “The Night of Terror the Great 1913 Flood,” which deals with the flood in the northern Miami Valley. Scott will share facts, stories and struggles that many locals may never have heard. This March will commemorate the 100th anniversary of this tragedy.

In the spring, a downtown tour of the village of Versailles (Upstairs) is being planned. There is much to look forward to, so plan to take part in another great lecture series presented by the Versailles Area Historical Society.
