GREENVILLE--Roughly the same size as a mourning dove, the American Kestrel is North America’s smallest falcon and the second smallest in the world! Often seen perched on fence rows or wires, these predators can also be found hunting insects and small prey on the ground.
Join the Darke County Parks on Feb. 7, 6 p.m., and build nest boxes to take home to attract a breeding pair of these colorful raptors to your own backyard. Materials for the box will be provided; just bring a cordless drill (if you do not have a cordless drill, one may be available for loan). The fee for this program is $10. Please pre-register by calling the Nature Center, 548-0165.
