Two-Week Old Child Possibly Injured by Parents

GREENVILLE - On Nov. 28, Greenville Police were dispatched to Children's Medical Center, Dayton, on a two-week old baby that arrived with significant injuries. The injuries included broken legs, broken arm, swelling and bleeding of the brain, bleeding on the spine, facial bruising, and broken ribs. The investigation concluded the injuries occurred in the City of Greenville.

Following further investigation by detectives from the Greenville Police Department, the case has been submitted to the Darke County Prosecutor's Office for charges against both parents. The child is in the custody of Darke County Children Services.

GHS Class of 1969 - The Greenville Class of 1969 will hold its annual mini-reunion on Aug. 17, 2-4 p.m. at the Elks Lounge on Third and Sycamore, Greenville. Please park in the Elks back parking lot and enter through the back door. The class will begin planning for its 45th reunion on June 15 at 1:30 p.m. at the Maid-Rite shelter house. Class members should plan to attend the June 15 meeting if they wish to voice their opinions concerning the location and type of reunion for 2014. Help is needed to contact class members for the large event. For more information, contact Debby Sodders at 548-7951. All class members are welcome on both dates.

Genealogical Society – The Darke County Genealogical Society, Inc. is holding its annual picnic on June 6, 5:30 p.m., in the Greenville City Park, at the same shelter that has been used in the past. Bring food to share and your tableware and come to have a good time.

Alumni Banquet - The 2013 Westmont, Hollansburg and Palestine Alumni Banquet will be held June 15 at the Golden Eagle Christian Center in Palestine. The time to arrive is 4 p.m. with dinner served at 5 p.m. The theme this year is “An Italian Experience.” Everyone is welcome that attended Westmont, Hollansburg, and Palestine; even if you did not graduate from there.
