GREENVILLE - “When we work together, we can move mountains, and we need every one of you,” said Ohio Federation of Republican Women’s (OFRW) Southwest District Vice-president Linda Burke when she spoke to the Darke County Republican Women’s Club (DCRWC). “Our local clubs are of course the foundation, but when you move up to the state level you can affect things like helping elect Sharon Kennedy to the Ohio Supreme Court “
“We need to be tending that flame of freedom, and protecting it,” continued Burke and she paraphrased Winston Churchill, “Never, never, never, never give up.”
“It was so nice to have Linda here to speak to our group. We were so happy to host her and hear what is going on with the OFRW,” said DCRWC President Sally Zeiter.
DCRWC holds regular monthly meetings on the second Monday of every month, with the exceptions of January and August. Regular meetings are held in the Chestnut Village Center of the Brethren Home Retirement Community.
Dinner is available by prior reservation, at a cost of $7.50 per person. Anyone wishing to join the group at 6:30 p.m. for dinner, prior to the evening's meeting and program, may place reservations by calling or emailing Wavelene Denniston before noon on the Thursday preceding the meeting. Reservations placed are expected to be paid. Wavelene's phone is 547-6477 or she may be emailed to DCRWReservations@darkegop.org. Those wishing not to dine may arrive before 7 p.m. for the program.
