Project FeederWatch

DARKE COUNTY—The Darke County Park District invites community members to participate in Project FeederWatch, every Tuesday and Wednesday, 9:30-11:30 a.m. This is a unique ‘Citizen Science’ program organized by Cornell University which studies winter bird populations. Your observations may be used in scientific journals and shared with ornithologists and bird lovers nationwide. No matter your birding level, beginner or expert, the district needs your help!

Gather inside the Nature Center at Shawnee Prairie Preserve (4267 St. Rt. 502 West) and count the birds that visit the bird-feeding station. Only available for a portion of the count time? That’s fine! Just drop in anytime on Tuesday or Wednesday from 9:30-11:30 a.m. Warm drinks will be available. For more information on Project FeederWatch, call the Nature Center, 548-0165.
