Community Unity will hold annual meeting

GREENVILLE – Community Unity will hold its annual meeting on Nov. 27, 7 p.m., at the Grace Resurrection Community Center, 433 E. Water St., Greenville. In addition to Community Unity’s supporters and volunteers, anyone that would like more information about this ministry is welcome to attend.

After a brief time for refreshments, the meeting will begin with an opening devotion followed by the treasurer’s report, president’s report and dealing with matters of business, which includes election of officers. The meeting promises to be brief, but informative and encouraging.

Community Unity, which was established more than 20 years ago, is a local ministry helping the needy in Darke County through the support of churches, organizations, individuals and various grants. It is run solely by volunteers. It assists those who qualify with financial needs, including help with utilities, rent, medical needs and emergency transportation. While it is located in the Grace Resurrection Community Centers and helps many of the same clients, it is a separate organization.

Community Unity is grateful for all of its volunteers and supporters, but they can always use new workers and more financial support. For more information about the meeting or the ministry, contact Jim Morehouse, 547-1557. Community Unity will hold its regular board meeting at 6 p.m., prior to the annual meeting.
