While the concert is always a big draw for Illumination, the festival has much more going on throughout the day. Plus, the Illumination Committee has added a second day to this year’s event - Day One.
Searching for a way to get more youth groups involved in the Illumination Festival, committee members formed Illumination Day One. Youth groups are encouraged to kick off their fall youth program during Illumination. Youth that don’t have a youth group are more than welcome to attend. The festival will host a special program on Sept. 15, 8 p.m., at the Darke County Fair Youth Building. Mike Guzzardo will be speaking and regional band, I Am Victorious, will provide the worship music. There will also be a youth drama presented. The cost for Illumination Day One is $5 per person or five cans of food per person. For more information on this event, visit dayone.illuminationfestival.org. Youth groups can come just for the evening or camping is available.
Illumination Festival continues on Sunday, Sept. 16, 9:30 a.m., with a special worship service in the Youth Building. Guzzardo has agreed to minister in this service also. Providing the music will be New Creation.
Following the worship service, activities will include the traditional Coffeehouse with great regional bands, air soft, inflatables, volleyball and a corn hole tournament.
The corn hold tournament begins at noon with registration beginning at 11 a.m. The cost is $5 per team and McDonald’s Gift Certificates will be awarded to first through third places. Register the day of the event or call (937) 670-9255 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
This year’s Illumination Coffeehouse begins at approximately 11 a.m. and will include Chris Cantrell, Levi Monk, I Am Victorious, Radiant and Live 4:1.
The Coffeehouse entertainment will lead up to the opening of the Grandstand at 3 p.m. with the first band performing on the main stage at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are required for the Illumination Concert featuring TobyMac. Ticket prices are $25 for grandstand, $30 for track and reserved and $50 for VIP tickets (in front of the stage and available from iTickets only). Tickets are $5 more on the day of the show. As a reminder, grandstand tickets do not allow for admittance to the track. Only reserved, track and VIP tickets will get concert goers on the track.
