DARKE COUNTY--The
first day of summer arrives June 20 and the spicy hot “race red” 2012 Ford
Focus – the prize for one lucky donor in the “iFocus on Saving Lives” summer
blood drive campaign - has arrived at Community Blood Center (CBC) headquarters
in downtown Dayton.
The goal of the “iFocus on Saving Lives” campaign is to encourage
donors to stay focused on the importance of giving blood during the challenging
summer months. Everyone age 18 or older who registers to donate at any CBC
branch or mobile blood drive now through Sept. 1 is automatically entered in
the drawing to win the 2012 Ford Focus.
This is the final week for donors to take home the red, white and
blue “iFocus, iChange Local Lives, the Power is in Your Hands” t-shirt. It is
free to anyone who registers to donate now through Saturday, June 23 at any CBC
branch or mobile blood drive.
Technology is making it faster and more convenient than ever to
schedule your next blood donation. Just use your computer or smart phone to
make an appointment online at www.DonorTime.com. You can also schedule your next appointment
using your mobile device to scan the DonorTime QR code. Following are upcoming
blood drives in Darke County:
June 18: Bradford High School, 750 Railroad Ave., Bradford, 2:30
– 6:30 p.m., sponsored by Bradford High School, open to the community,
appointments encouraged.
June 21: Eldora Speedway Ballroom, 13929 State Route 118, New
Weston, 2:30 – 6:30 p.m., Race Ticket Winners to be drawn every ½ hour plus
Grand Prize Drawings, sponsored by Eldora Speedway, open to the community,
appointments encouraged.
