State of the Heart benefits from nursery

MERCER COUNTY – Would you like to spend a Sunday afternoon viewing some of Mercer County’s prettiest ponds, patios and flower gardens and help a local charity?  On June 3, noon to 5 p.m., Nature’s Green, which specializes in landscaping, greenhouse flowers and shrubs and outdoor living furnishings, will sponsor the second annual Ponds Patios and Posies tour with proceeds to benefit State of the Heart Hospice.
“The tour will focus on local homes in Fort Recovery, Coldwater, St. Henry and Celina,” explained Sara Fortkamp, a representative of Nature’s Green.  Those doing the tour will be provided a map leading them to each site.  There are ten sites to visit, including one business.
“We chose State of the Heart as our charity because of the great reputation the agency has in our community, and it is locally based,” Fortkamp added.  State of the Heart Hospice, with offices in Coldwater, Greenville and Portland, cares for patients and families in eastern Indiana and western Ohio who are confronting a life limiting illness.
“This tour of gardens, patios and ponds affords people the opportunity to get ideas about their own homes,” Fortkamp said. “The tour is particularly good for anyone who is looking to update or improve their landscaping.”
There will be an opening ceremony at noon at the Fort Recovery location for Nature’s Green.  At the conclusion of the tour, there will be a ceremony at Nature’s Green in Celina featuring a cook-out and door prizes.
Tickets for the tour are $15 until May 21. After that, they are $20.  Children 15 and under can take the tour for free.  Tickets can be purchased at Nature’s Green in Fort Recovery.
Nature’s Green will be donating proceeds from the Ponds Patios and Posies tour.
